Matthew Churcher is a versatile actor and musician born and raised in Desborough, Northamptonshire. His early life was steeped in music, but his passion for the performing arts led him to pursue acting. He honed his craft at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, where he graduated with a BA in Acting: Collaborative and Devised Theatre in 2014.

Matthew's acting career has been marked by a diverse range of performances across theatre, film, and creative projects. His theatre credits include notable productions such as;

Tristan & Yseult Wuthering Heights  &  Little Match Girl  with the  Emma Rice Company 
Jane Eyre ,  War Horse  &  Peter Pan  with the  National Theatre

The BFG  &  HAMLET  with the  RSC
WHITE TEETH  the critically acclaimed production directed by  Indhu Rubasingham

as well as many UK tours and regional productions. â€‹â€‹â€‹

In addition to his stage work, Matthew has contributed to various research and development  projects, collaborating with esteemed companies like the National Theatre, Frantic Assembly, Blind Summit, ThickSkin and many more. His R&D work includes productions such as 'Angels in America' for its Broadway transfer and the National Theatres smash hit tour 'The Ocean at the End of the Lane.'

Matthew's dedication to his craft extends beyond acting, as he is also a skilled musician and composer, having contributed original music to productions like 'The Good Person of Szechwan' and 'Peak Stuff.' Following the release of their debut album, his band Citadel, opened the BBC Music Introducing stage at Latitude Festival.

 

His multifaceted talents and commitment to storytelling continue to make him a dynamic presence in the performing arts.
